Omni Mandalay Hotel

I surprised Chris and took him to the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Las Colinas for a little getaway. It was much needed for both of us!

Max is getting so big!

I surprised Chris with a beagle puppy this summer and he is already getting so big. He and Champ have become best friends. They play all day long. Yesterday we took Max on his first walk through the neighborhood on a leash. He did really well but he didn't enjoy the walk as much as Champ. Champ always loves going on walks but Max didn't think it was very fair. He had to take 5 steps for every 1 of Champs. By the end of the walk, Max was pathetic. He was so tired as soon as we went inside, he fell asleep. Check out our pics of Max and Champ...

Adam's Graduation

We had a pretty funny weekend. We planned on spending the weekend with Chris' family at the family farm to celebrate his cousin's graduation. Adam graduated from Texas A&M Commerce. So on Friday, Chris gets a call from his friend Bryan that the minister that was supposed to be marrying him on Saturday had kidney stones and the pastor of his church was already doing a funeral. He asked Chris to do the wedding and of course, Chris said yes, he would be happy to do it! So we drove on Friday to the rehearsal and then to the family farm. On Saturday, we went to graduation, ate lunch, and drove to the wedding just in time for Chris to marry them. We felt terrible for Bryan and Bretney but Chris did a great job. In the end...Adam graduated and Bryan and Bretney are married so the weekend turned out great! Here are some pics...

Our niece - Annabelle

Chris has taken up a new hobby of editing photographs.  I took this picture of Annabelle at Lou's wedding and he edited it.  He made the picture black and white, except for Annabelle's beautiful blue eyes.  I think it looks amazing!

Our New Puppy!!!

On Saturday, I surprised Chris with a Beagle puppy named Max! He was soooo excited! Max is tan and white with green eyes, 7 weeks old, and quite the whiner! We are in the process of trying to potty train and crate train him. It has definitely required patience... (Especially at night!!!) but we love him. Champ now has a friend to play with. He's not sure if he's excited yet because he is no longer an "only child" but he will learn to love him.

Horseshoe Bay Resort

We went to the Horseshoe Bay Resort for the weekend with Julie's family. The resort was great. It was right on the lake, had multiple pools, lawn games, golf, a beach, etc... We had a great time playing golf on the 18 hole putting greens. BJ won every time but it was fun! It was too short but very relaxing!

Chicago Mission Trip

Chris and I left on Sunday, June 22nd to go to Chicago for a mission trip. 26 others went with us including my mom and brothers. This was our 3rd year to serve at the Agape Center in inner city Chicago. Everyone was extremely excited about going back to see all the kids. In Chicago we put on a Day Camp all week playing and loving on the kids while teaching them the realness of Christ's love for them. Unfortunately, I got really sick and my mom and I had to fly home on Monday. BUT... Everyone had a blast and allowed Christ to use them all week to show the kids His love for them.

Lou Lou's Wedding

It was a big weekend in the Hurst family as Bob and Laurie married off the last of the kids. Lou Lou got married this weekend to Timothy Lowe...new name...Lou Lowe! All the family came in town so it was great to see everyone! The wedding was perfect!

The reception was a blast...great food, great company, and great dancing! The BEST part of the night was when Robert (Chris and Lou's brother, serving in Iraq) was able to talk to us live on a webcam. First time its ever been done! He was able to watch Lou Lou's entire wedding live in Iraq and at the reception was able to talk to everyone and give a special toast to Lou and Tim on a big screen! It was a PRICELESS moment, I think for everyone! Here are a few of the moments we captured!

Jon Long's Wedding

One of Chris' best friends and roommate in college got married last Saturday. The wedding was on the Southern Empress. The reception was a dinner cruise around Lake Conroe. We had a blast. Chris was a groomsmen and had a great time hanging out with the guys and seeing lots of old friends. We stayed at Sunset Harbor condominiums which were very nice and right on the lake.

Grace Fellowship's 5th Anniversary!!!

We can't believe it has already been 5 years at Grace Fellowship! In just 5 years, we went from meeting in a high school cafeteria to building our own building. We are now busting at the seems and have already outgrown and added on to our nursery. God has blessed tremendously! Here are a few pictures of our 5th Anniversary Celebration!

Family Life Marriage Conference

We went to the Family Life Marriage Conference at the Gaylord Texan. Family Life puts on marriage conferences all over the United States. We had heard that it was great and it completely met our expectations. The speakers were hilarious and the hotel was unbelievable. Most of all, we really learned a lot about marriage and that we aren't nearly as smart as we thought we were!

Pictures from the Gaylord

Laying Tile

Chris' parents decided to lay new ceramic tile in the kitchen and laundry room. Chris and Bob looked like Ninja Turtles working on the floor with those crazy things on their heads....but they did a GREAT job! The floor looked great! It will be completely finished just in time for Lou Lou's wedding.

Branson, Missouri

We went to Branson, Missouri to visit Kannakuk Camps for Chris to speak at a job fair. We drove which I thought would feel like a really long drive but it was beautiful! It was a short trip but we had a great time!

The Wii

We had our first experience with the Wii. It was a blast plus a pretty good workout if you play long enough. It's funny when you box against a 5 year old and the 5 year old beats you!

Blast from the Past!

My dad recently found lots of old pictures and put them on the computer. I thought they were great so here is a little Blast from the Past! This picture of my parents was one of my favorites!

Crazy Texas Weather

We have had the craziest weather this winter! Of course, that is what happens when you live in Texas. It's completely unpredictable! Last week, we had snow flurries on Monday, Tuesday was in the 80's, Wednesday it cooled down again, and Thursday we had a blizzard! We got over 7 inches of snow at our house and school was delayed on Friday. Our animals haven't ever experienced snow like that before so that was interesting. Fletch, our cat, jumped in it ONCE and thought the snow was attacking him as it was flying up around him. He kept swatting at it to try to keep it away from him, but of course that didn't work. Champ absolutely loved it. It was like a kid in a candy store! He ran around the yard probably 50 times, diving in it and eating it. It was a pretty crazy week!
