England Mission Trip

I left for England on Wednesday, October 17 and returned on October 23. We flew to England from DFW, then took a train to Middlesboro where we met our host for the week. My host's were incredible people and a blessing to say with. I spent Friday in a school outside of Middlesboro. I, along with three others from the group, talked to students in a Religious Education class about why we are theist and why we are Christ followers. The students had some very impressive questions and we did our best to answer them to the best of our ability. Saturday, we went sight seeing with our hosts and went to a Futbol Match after lunch. I really enjoyed getting to spend time in around the people and culture of England. Sunday, I preached at Berwick Hills Baptist Church then traveled by train to London. Sunday night we ate Mexican food at the Texas Embassy, then went and watched the Cowboys game. Monday, we spend the day sight seeing in London. Monday night, I saw Robert Redford and Tom Cruise in the Picadilly Circus area. They were there promoting their new movie, Lions for Lambs. Tuesday morning, we woke up early and got on a train to head to the Airport. We flew home and arrived mid-afternoon on Tuesday, Oct. 23. It was a great trip.

We went to the Texas A&M and Oklahoma State football game in College Station. Mike and Melissa went with us and we had a blast. The Aggies won 24 to 23!!! It was an awesome game!

Ranger's Game

I had the privilege of going to the Rangers game with the other Pastors from GFC and we had the best seats I've ever sat in. It was a fun game to be at. Sammy Sosa drove in the winning run with a walk-off single. Good times.

They Call Him Fletch - Fletch the Toilet

We have a new addition to the Hurst family. We have a new cat named Fletch. We got the cat from The Johnson Family several weeks ago and I gotta say he's a pretty cool cat. I am pretty sure he thinks he is a dog though. He loves Champ and Champ tolerates him. When we first got him, he was still barely weened and every time he got hungry he would try to nurse on Champ. Champ was not a fan. It's pretty funny though to look outside and watch our cat and dog play chase - and the cat doing the chasing half the time. Welcome to the family Fletch!

I almost forgot to explain the title... There was a little girl in Julie's class that asked her what our cat's name is and misunderstood Julie when she told her. The little girl ask, "Like flush the toilet?" She thought our cat's name was Flush... Strange kid... Really.
